Sometimes, the services that we provide relate to transactions, issues, entities, rights or properties (personal or real) which are located in, or governed by the laws of, a jurisdiction other than the jurisdiction in which our lawyers are qualified to practice law.  In such event, we will engage agent(s) in such other jurisdiction on your behalf and your information (including any personal information) may be disclosed to such agent(s).  The personal information disclosed to such agent(s) will be governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which such agent(s) are located.  The personal information protection and/or privacy laws applicable in such jurisdiction, if any, may be different from the laws applicable in the jurisdiction that our lawyers practice.  The laws in such other jurisdiction may grant to governmental agencies, other authorities, other entities, etc. the right to access your information which would not otherwise be applicable in the jurisdiction in which our lawyers practice. 

 

2.  In Relation to Our Website

 

We do not require that you provide any of your personal information to us in order to access or use our website  However, you may choose to provide us with personal and other information by sending us an email through our website or fill out one of our online forms.  Any information provided to us will be subject to our privacy policy.

 

Please note that our website is hosted by a third party web-host which may attach cookies to your computer's memory when you visit our website  It is also our understanding that information many be collected by such third party web-host when you visit our website to establish usage patterns on our website and to produce web usage statistics.

We create a file where we maintain your personal information.  If you wish to access or correct your personal information that is contained in such file, please contact our Privacy Officer.  Our Privacy Officer may be reached via the contact information set out on the "Contact Us" web page.  You can navigate to our "Contact Us" web page. by clicking on the "Contact Us" tab on the navigation bar at the top of this web page.  All requests must be made in writing and before we accede to your request, we will need to verify your identity.  If your identity cannot be verified to our satisfaction, your request will be denied.  Please note that we may not be able to provide you with access to your personal information in some cases, as a result of our professional and legal obligations.
